First Stage

Well after a twelve hour flight Jillian and I are in LA to be meet by sister Gaye so good to see her. What am I on line for already, well on the way up we sat across the aisle from Jeremy and Paula Hardy from Prayer HB off to a reunion in Australia, we bith left on an ealier flight as ours was delayed and we would have missed the connecting flight.
With our flight we had included the use of the Koru Club facilities they must have thought who are these tramping hobos coming into the airport lounges. Well as we sat eating I walked off to get something else to eat and came back to find Jillian engaged in conversation with the lady sitting next to her as her husband had gone off somewhere which must give the ladys the cue to talk. As it turned out they were people we knew many years ago in HB they were Marcier and David Stanton originally from the Bay. They were off to meet children over in Spain funny that thats where we are going.

Our prayer for this trip is that we will have divine connections along the way and have the wisdom to know his leading and prompting.
Spent time meditating on the plane the verses in Heb 10 Having now boldness / confidence to enter into the Holy place / (presence of the Lord ) through the blood of Jesus.
Having now..........what was the alternative to the now is the interesting thought.

Just meet Terry am using their computor in Brea. thanks for the prayers and kind thoughts on our departure.

Blessings

NIck & Ratha's wedding day

It was a great day for a wedding - it was a very hot afternoon with temperature of 29. Ratha looked stunning and everything went well - Blair did great, his first offical role as a marriage celebrant - now we can concentrate on getting ready.... but still a few days of work

count down last days till we off

Hi to Bea and Kim, thanks for the going away lunch was so good and the card and kind words we have 6 days till we fly out 2 days till Nick & Ratha are married,so then we can move from wedding mode to trip mode.
We have all the gear piled up and we seriously need to lay everything out as get some weighing going on. The weather in Spain is moving well into Spring with 6 to 8 degree low to 15 to 18 degree high give or take.
Reading a book on the Camino by a passed traveller and it is very insightful and so meaningful to think that will be us very soon, how will we cope, how will we handle injury blisters, but then the unknown is all part of the mystery.

getting ready?

We are counting down the days now until we leave NZ to walk the Camino de Santiago an 800km walk across northern Spain. This blog was an idea to keep anyone who might be interested informed as to how we get on. 800km. Wow it sounds a long walk. How can you ever be ready for an 800km walk. Good shoes I'm told and travel light - less than 10kg... We have the good shoes and have put in a fair amount of ks in preparation. For now though its all about weddings as next weekend our son Nick is getting married to Ratha. YAY! It will be a wondeful day.
