getting ready?
We are counting down the days now until we leave NZ to walk the Camino de Santiago an 800km walk across northern Spain. This blog was an idea to keep anyone who might be interested informed as to how we get on. 800km. Wow it sounds a long walk. How can you ever be ready for an 800km walk. Good shoes I'm told and travel light - less than 10kg... We have the good shoes and have put in a fair amount of ks in preparation. On one of our training walks Blair had packed my bag with cans of baked beans, a pumpkin and a bible concordance, we walked to Cape Kidnappers and I told everyone I met I was in training.. for the Camino, amazing as one such person who I spoke with had just returned, he was Australian, but visiting NZ and missing the rhythm of walking also decided on walking to see the gannets, naturally I soaked up every bit of information he shared. Wonderful timing.
